Open Call for Aqua, Ambra, Aquila. International Jewelry Competition 2026
Tavast Goldsmith Tools is proud to support the Aqua, Ambra, Aquila. International Jewelry Competition 2026, organized by the Finnish Goldsmiths’ Association, Museo Kruunu and the Finnish Jewellery Art Association.
The competition is open to everyone. The official languages are Finnish and English.
Each participant may submit up to three proposals. A single proposal may consist of a collection (for example, necklace and earrings).
The Open Call is now officially open.
Theme 2026: Beneath the Surface
The sea reveals one reality at its surface — calm reflection or raging storm. Yet beneath it, entire worlds exist unseen.
This year’s competition invites you to interpret the theme “Beneath the Surface” through jewellery.
You may approach the theme through material, phenomenon, element, concept — or through your own personal reading of what lies hidden, protected, evolving, or transforming below.
Climate change, fragile ecosystems, invasive species, resilience, silence, harmony — or something entirely unexpected. We are looking for contemporary interpretations that challenge, question, and expand the language of jewellery.
Special emphasis will be placed on sustainable thinking, and the use of recycled or ethically produced materials is strongly encouraged.
Participants submit their proposals in PDF format via email. The submission must clearly communicate the jewellery concept and may include drawings, photographs or renderings.
Each participant may submit up to three proposals.
A single proposal may include a collection (for example, a necklace and earrings).
Submissions must include:
Designer’s name
Address and contact details
A pseudonym under which the proposal is submitted
Proof of payment of the €20 jury fee
Submissions are sent to:
toimisto@kultaseppienliitto.fi
From all entries, the jury will select 10 finalists by 20 May 2026.
Finalists will be publicly announced on 21 May 2026.
The selected finalists will produce their jewellery according to their submitted designs. The production is carried out at the participant’s own expense and within the given schedule.
Finished works must be delivered by 15 August 2026 to:
Finnish Goldsmiths’ Association
Ahertajantie 6 C
02100 Espoo
Finland
The award ceremony will take place at Museo Kruunu on 15 September 2026, and the exhibition of the finalist works will remain open until 14 March 2027.
For many participants, the exhibition is as meaningful as the competition itself — offering visibility, dialogue, and the opportunity to present work within a respected institutional setting.
